Pagos

Embedded Finance Infrastructure

Payments intelligence platform that harmonizes multi-processor data into analytics, monitoring, and optimization.

Overview

Pagos is an independent payments intelligence and data platform that sits above existing payment processors—not replacing them—to give merchants a unified, harmonized view of their entire payments operation. Founded in 2021 by Klas Bäck (CEO, ex-Braintree/PayPal international), Albert Drouart (CPO, ex-Braintree), and Daniel Blomberg (CTO), the company connects directly to a merchant's processors (Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, Checkout.com, Worldpay, Chase, PayPal, dLocal, Fiserv, and more) via no-code or file-based integrations, ingesting every transaction event at the raw level, normalizing it against a unified data model, and enriching it with card network data, BIN intelligence, and contextual metadata. To date, Pagos has ingested over 16 billion transaction events representing more than $1.3 trillion in commerce volume. The platform's core product suite covers four interconnected capability areas: (1) Insights & Analytics (Peacock dashboards, AI-powered summaries, opportunity quantification); (2) Monitoring & Observability (Canary automated anomaly detection and alerts); (3) Benchmarking (Flamingo, enabling anonymous comparison against industry peers); and (4) Data Access & Streaming (Puffin, for exporting harmonized data to any data warehouse; MCP Server for LLM-native querying). Pagos also offers direct card-network API services — BIN database (Parrot), account updater (Loon), and network tokenization (Toucan) — that help merchants improve authorization rates and reduce costs without processor dependency. In 2025–2026, Pagos expanded its AI layer, launching a conversational Pagos AI agent and an open MCP Server compatible with Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. Pagos is explicitly not a payment processor: it handles no transaction authorization, settlement, or money movement. It is headquartered in Los Angeles and was recognized on the 2024 CNBC/Statista World's Top Fintech Companies list and won the 2026 FinTech Breakthrough Award for Data Visualization Solution of the Year.
